WINNING! DUH! Mikey's Mock Draft v1.0

With the #1 overall pick in the first round, the Carolina Panthers Select!:

QB- Blaine Gabbert MU
     * Not the selection I'd go with here.  With no clear cut #1 QB this year thanks to Andrew Luck staying at Stanford, and an abundance of QB's that have a lot of talent yet under-produced their senior years (Christian Ponder FS, Jake Locker Was, Ryan Mallet Ark, etc...) they'd be much better off taking a playmaker like AJ Green, and taking one of those solid QB's at the top of round 2, but this is my mock draft of where I THINK the players will go, not what I would do in that position, keep that in mind.

#2 Denver Broncos:  CB- Patrick Peterson LSU
    * The best player in this years draft, big, strong, physical, and can play either corner or safety position as well as return punts/kickoffs.  Will also eventually take over for Chump Bailey.  I made Denver's font pink because I hate them.  Take that John Elway.

#3 Buffalo Bills:  QB- Cam Newton Aub
   * Keep in mind, this is who I think will be drafted here, not who I think should be drafted.  Cam Newton is dumb, has a weak arm, terrible throwing motion, and character issues.  He'd be a great pick for the the Bengals but a terrible one for Buffalo.  I think the front office forces this pick to sell tickets and excite their fan base that is already on life support.

#4 Cincinnati Bengals: WR- AJ Green Geogia
     * The Safest pick in the draft behind Patrick Peterson.  Big, physical receiver with great hands that can stretch the field, plays much faster than he ran during the combine.  Will be the new #1 receiver in Cinci allowing Chad Johnson transition to playing second fiddle as he gets towards the end of his career.

#5 Arizona Cardinals: OLB- Von Miller Texas A&M
     * I like his measureables and production, I'm sure Arizona hopes he plays more like the 2009, NCAA sack leading version rather than last year when his production dropped  across the board.

#6 Cleveland Browns: WR- Julio Jones Bama
     * This may be a little early for Julio Jones, who has had a major case of the dropsies throughout his college career.  He is a top talent though, one that could take over the game at any point and has the speed to stretch the field, as well as give the Browns and Colt McCoy a legitimate outside threat to pair with their dominating running attack and physical inside game on offense.

#7 San Francisco 49ers: DE/OLB- Robert Quinn UNC
     * Robert Quinn is an elite talent, despite being suspended by the NCAA in 2010 he's remained in fantastic shape and surprised nobody by blowing up at the combine and showing his quickness and overall speed.  Great value at this pick for the 49ers.

#8 Tennessee Titans: DT- Nick Fairley Aub
     * He was a one year wonder at Auburn.  With that said, his one year was fantastic!  Fairley was unblockable at times, he's a great talent that still has room to grow into his frame and is still a work in progress.  The Titans hope they have the replacement to Haynesworth that they've sorely missed since he left in free agency following the 2008 season.

#9 Dallas Cowboys: CB- Prince Amukamara Neb
     * Not quite a reach, Prince is a good player and addresses a big need for the Cowboys.  Considering Terrence Newman is 137 years old and has problems staying on the field, drafting Newman's eventual replacement to start alongside Pro-Bowl corner Mike Jenkins makes the most sense for Dallas (which is why I doubt it actually happens).

#10 Washington Redskins: DT/NT Marcell Dareus Bama
     * Dareus is a big, physical inside player.  Now that Fat Albert has decided to be a Nancy, this pick gives the Skins security in case they decide to cut Haynesworthless and save some of the money they shouldn't have thrown his way.

#11 Houston Texans: DE/OLB Aldon Smith Mizzou
    * Our second semi-reach of the draft thus far.  Smith is a physical freak that will fit in perfectly to Wade Phillips 3-4.  Houston gets great value here, had Smith stayed for his R-Jr season he'd be a top 5 pick.

#12 Minnesota Vikings: DE- Da'Quan Bowers Clemson
     * Bowers slips here due to questions coming up about his work ethic.  Minnesota drafts the best player available here which also addresses a need across from Jared Allen.  Ray Edwards is a free agent and Everson Griffen has proved why he slipped so far last year by doing nothing but get arrested.

#13 Detroit Lions: OT Tryon Smith USC
    * Smith should help strengthen an offensive line that has allowed Matt Stafford, the 2009 #1 overall pick, to be violated more times than he cares to mention.  Smith hasnt had to play LT in college, but it should be an easy transition, he has great feet and a good worth ethic.

#14 St. Louis Rams: DE- Cameron Jordan Cal
     * Jordan is a versatile defensive lineman than can get upfield and make plays.  Will fit in well in Steve Spagnuolo's defense.

#15 Miami Dolphins: RB Mark Ingram Bama
     * This is a need pick by Miami, both Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams appear to be parting ways with Miami, Ingram is a solid back that is not great at any one thing, but is good at everything (many are comparing him to Emmit Smith).

#16 Jacksonville Jaguars: DE/OLB Ryan Kerrigan Pur
     *Kerrigan

#17 New England Patriots: OG/C Mike Pouncey Fla
     * Pouncey isnt quite the stud his older brother is, but is not far behind.  He brings versatility to an offensive line that is hurting after the retirement of Stephen Neal and the constant contract dispute between management and Logan Mankins.  Helps sure up the inside of their line, the rich get richer...

#18 San Diego Chargers: DE- J.J. Watt Wisc
     * The Chargers announce what everyone else already knows, Jacques Cesair freakin sucks.  They absolutely need an upgrade across their defensive line and linebacking corp.  DL is their most pressing need though.

#19 New York Giants: OT Anthony Castonzo BC
     * William Beatty sucks, and Kareem McKenzie and David Diehl will be 32 and 31 respectively by week 1 and are both starting to show their age.  Tom Coughlin LOVES drafting offensive and defensive linemen early and often, this pick just makes sense across the board for them.

#20 Tampa Bay Buccaneers: CB- Jimmy Smith Colorado
     * Smith is the second best CB in this draft in my opinion and the closest to a finished product behind Peterson.  Ronde Barber is freakin old and Aquib Talib would rather be a hood rich thug than an NFL star, Smith is a security pick.

#21 KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: OT- Nate Solder Colorado
     * Back to back Buffalo picks!?  Solder is the best pass protecting tackle in the draft with the most upside.  Huge frame with quick feet, started his college career as a Tight End but gained 30 pounds of muscle during his redshirt freshman year to be moved to offensive line.  Has a ton of potential and upgrades the offensive line.  Albert can move into guard or to the right side, this should mark the end of the failed Branden Albert experiment as a LT, he has digressed since his impressive start during his rookie campaign.

#22 Indianapolis Colts: OT- Gabe Carimi Wisc
     * The one thing the Colts have deprived their last few drafts is the offensive line.  This years tackle class is deep, look for them to take the best available at #22, Carimi has great lateral quickness and should have no problem protecting Peyton Manning's blind side.

#23 Philadelphia Eagles: OT Derek Sherrod Miss State
     * Philly desperately needs help on the right side of their line and at CB.  With nobody worth reaching for at the CB position, Sherrod would be a good value pick and will address a major need.  This should end the run on OT's as well.

#24 New Orleans Saints: DE- Adrian Clayborn Iowa
     * Clayborn was overrated going into this season, he's a solid DE but not an impact player worth the top 10 selection some thought he'd go to.  This is a good fit for the Saints and Clayborn both.

#25 Seattle Seahawks: DE/DT Cameron Hayward Ohio State
     * Hayward is a versatile DL that can move in and out.  Seattle's biggest need is on the defensive side of the ball, Hayward would allow Balmer to move inside and play the 3 technique while being a major upgrade across from double digit sack man Chris Clemons.

#26 Baltimore Ravens: CB Brandon Harris Mia
     * Another 1st round defensive player coming from Miami, the Ravens love former Canes.  Harris addresses a huge need at CB, and is a player with huge upside that will only get better.

#27 Atlanta Falcons: DE/OLB Justin Houston Georgia
     * Jamaal Anderson and Lawrence Sidbury both suck.  Kroy Biermann is solid, as is John Abraham, but time is not on his side.  Houston will be an immediate help, and be an eventual replacement for Abraham.

#28 New England Patriots: OLB Akeem Ayers UCLA
     * The rich continue to get richer.  Ayers slips because of a slow 40 time at the combine, he's still a top 15 talent that can get upfield and rush the passer.  The Patriots reap the benefits of yet another very talented player slipping because of a bad workout.

#29 Chicago Bears: DT- Corey Liuget Illinois
     * Although Da Bears need a lot of help at Offensive Line, as I said earlier this year's draft is deep with offensive linemen.  Liuget was All Big-10 as a JR and will fit in well alongside Tommie Harris inside the Bears defensive line.

#30 New York Jets: NT Phil Taylor, Baylor
     * Kris Jenkins is done and Sione Pouha is old and has overachieved.  The Jets need to find a permanent replacement inside of their 3-4, Taylor can be that player.  He's a huge (Plays between 335-340lbs) and can stuff the run at the point of attack.

#31 Pittsburgh Steelers: CB Aaron Williams Tex
     * Pittsburgh's corners blow, Stevie Wonder could see that during the Superbowl.  Anytime Jordy Nelson catches for almost 200 yards against you AFTER dropping a half dozen passes, you know its time for an upgrade outside.

#32 Green Bay Packers: DE/DT Muhammad Wilkerson Temple

     * It's no secret the Packers LOVE huge versatile defensive lineman that keep the O-line away from their playmaking linebackers.  Johnny Jolly would rather smoke crack and drink "grape drank" like his fellow 300lb'er Jamarcus Russel, Wilkerson makes sense.  He can play inside or out in their 3-4 scheme, the Packers look to continue getting better up front.
